What is Liability Insurance?
An automobile insurance policy provides liability coverage, which protects you when you cause a car accident. Georgia requires that you have at least $25,000.00/$50,000.00 in liability coverage. The first amount will cover a single person involved in an accident. The second amount is the maximum coverage for all people involved in the accident. It is very important to have high liability insurance coverage limits so that if you are responsible for an accident, the victims cannot come after your personal assets (wages, property, etc.).
