Meredith Watts is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer, having handled a wide variety of cases in the state and federal courts of Georgia. After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2006, Meredith served as a federal judicial law clerk to the Honorable G. Ernest Tidwell in the Northern District of Georgia. After the clerkship, Meredith spent the next four years at one of the top three largest law firms in Atlanta, specializing in general commercial and construction litigation. Since then, Meredith has worked at several boutique litigation firms in the Atlanta area, representing individuals and business in a wide range of subject matters including personal injury cases, contract disputes, franchise law, real estate law, and intellectual property litigation.
Meredith also had her own firm for seven years, where she served as local counsel, co-counsel, and appellate counsel to clients and other attorneys before both trial and appellate courts. During this time, Meredith co-represented a client in first amendment litigation in Georgia state court, obtaining a favorable result for the client before the Georgia Supreme Court. Wilkes & McHugh, P.A. v. LTC Consulting, L.P., 306 Ga. 252 (2019). Meredith also served as co-counsel in a wrongful death action against a county at the trial and appellate courts, ultimately arguing the case before the Georgia Supreme Court and obtaining a favorable result for the client. Cannon v. Oconee County, 310 Ga. 728 (2021).
Meredith lives with her two sons and two dogs in Smyrna. In her spare time, Meredith enjoys cheering on the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs, running half marathons, and watching her sons play baseball in the Smyrna Little League.
